Objective: Learn to balance great ideas with the challenges of delivering great video games

Use material from Chapter 14: Let the Right Ideas Win

QUEST: Review the publicly available technical requirements for one of the major hardware platforms: iOS/Apple, Xbox, or Epic Games Store(other platforms are not publicly available.) What is most surprising? How might you use a framework like MVP or MoSCoW to include these requirements?

Select one or more of the following requirements definitions to review:

For each set of requirements you review:

Review your selected requirements

Look for sections like “most frequent failures,” “common issues”

Identify three risks

What are the top three things that jump out at you as easy to get wrong (like terminology) or hard to get right (like cross-platform multiplayer for PC)?

Look for content guidance

Can you find anything about what your app must contain, like ratings, links, or references to the platform they are on?

Look for localization guidance

Is there anything about how to approach international submissions? Any special services or policies?

After you review, reflect on these questions:

Timing

How often would you expect to be dealing with the issues you found? When in the development process should these things be discussed? Should they wait until the end, or do they need to be part of the planning process due to complexity?

Priority

How do the opportunities you found rank in terms of priority? Would you consider them part of an MVP release? Where would they fall on a MoSCoW analysis?
