Game Development Strategy Guide author Cheryl Platz had a fantastic time meeting local game developers and game educators at the rescheduled Games and Education Industry Collider, a semi-regular event hosted by Seattle Indies that graced the Cornish Playhouse (fun fact: formerly known as the Intiman Playhouse, a theater where Cheryl performed improv years ago) on February 26 in the Seattle Center.
Cheryl’s stock of physical books sold out quickly – both the newer Game Development Strategy Guide and her original book Design Beyond Devices – but the conversations kept going all night long. It was a great chance to meet a few new folks, talk about the upcoming podcast season, and hear about local game dev curricula.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, grabbed a copy of the book, or grabbed a signed bookplate for a future order. Cheryl can’t wait to see how things unfold for you this year!
As an adjunct professor of game development for Carnegie Mellon University and a game dev author and podcaster, events like this are very energizing for Cheryl – reach out at cheryl@ideaplatz.com if you think you have another event that would be a match!
Huge thank you to event volunteer Darrell Porcher for the photos!
